Detailed Day Wise Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival
On the first day, you will arrive Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport by the morning flight from Delhi. Head to the hotel, relax for some time and get acclimatize to the high elevation of Leh. In the afternoon, amble through the Old Town of Leh and also explore Leh Palace. After an interesting sightseeing time, head back to the hotel for a relaxing overnight stay.
Day 2 – In Leh
On this day, get set to explore the wonders of Leh. After a scrumptious breakfast, visit Tibetan Buddhist Gompas of Shey, Thiksay and Hemis. Visit Shey, famous for its palaces and temples. Later, drive to Thiksay Monastery that resembles Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. After this, enjoy a drive to Hemis Monastery, the largest monastery in Ladakh. This monastery is known for its beautiful architecture. After you explore the sacred monastery, drive back to the hotel in Leh. In the evening, you can explore the colourful markets. Relax during the overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3 – Nubra Valley
Head to Nubra Valley in the morning and enjoy the drive on world’s highest motorable pass – Khardung La that lies at an elevation of 17,582 feet. Halt for a while to admire the fascinating sight around and capture some special moments using your cameras before driving down to Nubra Valley. Enjoy the drive to the fixed camp resort and later visit the beautiful Diskit, capital of Nubra. Explore its interesting shops and visit Diskit Monastery, the largest and oldest gompa in the Nubra Valley. After visiting Diskit, head to the fascinating village of Hunder and watch its beautiful silver sand dunes, Bactrian camels and Pashmina goats. During late afternoon, head back to the camp. Enjoy your overnight stay in the camp.
Day 4 – Nubra Valley to Leh
On this day, enjoy your drive back to Leh. Journey along the same route and cross the beautiful Khardung La Pass again. On arriving Leh in the afternoon, relax in the hotel.
Day 5 – Leh to Pangong Lake Excursion
After an early breakfast, enjoy your drive to Pangong Lake via Chang La Pass. En route, enjoy the beautiful scenery and views of snow-covered Himalayas. This lake is situated at a height of about 14, 270 feet and extends in China. It is the highest salt water lake in the world. After this, drive back to Leh and spend the night at the hotel.
Day 6 – Departure
Your delightful tour of Leh and Nubra Valley ends today. After a scrumptious breakfast, drive to the airport and enjoy your journey back home.
