DETAILED DAY WISE ITINERARY
Day 1 – Arrival at Colombo Airport and transfer to Kandy
Upon arrival at Colombo or Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative who will then help in transferring you to your hotel in Kandy.
Day 2 – Kandy Sightseeing – Nuwara Eliya
A mountainous town situated 7000 ft above sea level; Nuwara Eliya is built around a chilly lake surrounded by lush tea gardens, stunning waterfalls, and virgin woodland. On reaching Nuwara Eliya, check in to your hotel and proceed for local sightseeing.
Our first stop is the Seetha Aman Temple that will douse in rich history about the Ramayana and Sita. It is believed that this is the very spot where Goddess Sita was held captive by Ravana. Your date with beauty today can be a rather long and pleasant one as you stop at Gregory’s Lake. A truly majestic brush with nature, you are bound to be smitten by its beauty. Take a boat ride with your beloved or just enjoy the weather lost in each other’s presence. Another beautiful spot is the Victoria Park. Enjoy the open spaces of this fecund and green park that also treats you plenty of birds and different kinds if flora. We also visit a working tea factory where the slow-growing tea bushes of this highland region produce some of the world’s finest Orange Pekoe Tea. Our last destination for the day is the Hakgala Botanical Gardens that will provide you an opportunity to interact with natural beauty and abundant trees and flowers. Winding pathways provide a great chance for a refreshing stroll.
Finally, head back to your hotel for a wholesome dinner and spend the night relaxing.
Day 3 – Nuwara Eliya to Bentota
“Dig into a delectable spread of breakfast at your hotel and get set to be transferred to Bentota, better known as the city of golden beaches.
While the drive to Bentota is a long one and takes about 5 ½ hours, it seems worth every minute spent in the vehicle owing to the scenic route and picturesque views. Upon reaching Bentota, check into your hotel and freshen up to get ready for a local sightseeing tour of Bentota.
Enjoy a lovely cruise on the Madu River, also known as the Blue Lagoon Cruise among locals. Most boats have canopies that can be lowered depending on the sunlight. The cruise gives you a chance to see some of the small islands around the region. You also have the option of enjoying water sports on one of the beaches. Our last stop today is the Turtle Hatchery where you get to see turtle eggs and also take pictures with some baby turtles. Witness as many as 5 species of turtles here.
We head to the hotel for dinner and a good night’s sleep.
Day 4 – Bentota – Colombo
“Fuel yourself with a hearty morning meal served at the hotel before proceeding for your onward journey to Colombo. This will take about 2 ½ hours. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel in Colombo, freshen up and get ready for some local sightseeing.
Explore the best of Colombo as we visit some of its most prominent tourist attractions including the National Museum, Fort District, Twin World Trade Center, Independence Hall at Independence Square, among others. Our trip can also include prominent Buddhist, Hindu, Islam and Christian places of worship.
It’s time for the most touristy cliche- shopping! Take this chance to visit Odel, House of Fashion, Beverly Street, Majestic City, Noritake, etc. You can also explore the Gangarama Temple.
After a day of exciting sightseeing, return to your hotel and after a delectable dinner, retire to your room to prepare for the next day.
Day 5 – Departure
